Eucharist (First Holy Communion)

The Eucharist is “the source and the summit of the whole of the  Church’s worship and of the Christian life”. “The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch” (CCC, 1324)

Children in Year 3 and above who have been Baptised in the Roman Catholic Tradition and have made their First Reconciliation are eligible to receive this Sacrament.

A Parent/Carer’s information night will be arranged during the year and Parents are asked to attend to enrol their child in this Sacrament.

Children from State schools will be required to attend four Sunday lessons held at the Parish Hall.

Details of the next scheduled date of the First Holy Communion will be communicated through our parish and through this website. Children in State schools will also receive a letter during their SRE classes.

This is a very interesting and precious time for your child. It is our privilege to work with you in order to help your child in their preparation to receive the Body of Jesus Christ. We hope that this journey enriches your faith.
